Zafar Mahal | The Last Mughal Palace

Zafar Mahal | The Last Mughal Palace

Mehrauli, Delhi’s oldest city holds architectural marvels from different eras. The city that saw the rise and fall of different rulers, also remains witness to the last palace built by the Mughals, Zafar Mahal.
The palace, once used as a summer retreat of the last Mughal emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar now lies in ruins. Illegal encroachments and neglect from the administrations over the decades has left this Palace dilapidated.
We bring to you the story of Zafar Mahal, which was supposed to be the last abode of Emperor Zafar and still holds an empty place for him.
